A Nanotechnology Consumer Product Inventory

The Project on Emerging Nanotechnology has recently updated its list of nanotech products currently on the market. The organization lists more than 350 consumer products that utlize nanoscale technologies. The list of products has increased significantly (70%) since the group first compiled its list in March 2006. Healthcare and Fitness products by far out number nano-based consumer applications compared to other sectors.

Most products in this inventory satisfy three criteria:
a) They can be readily purchased by consumers, and
b) They are identified as nano-based by the manufacturer OR another source, and
c) The nano-based claims for the product appear reasonable.
